Get the light-painting tubes at https://lightpainting.store We've been shooting in bulb mode for years for our light-painting work, but tonight was quite different. As I was very far away using a 85mm lens, I knew that my trigger would start to glitch. Using a fixed exposure duration of 8 seconds was a turning point for us. And this is what we've been doing for the past two months now! The idea here is to turn off the light before the end of the exposure (usually 2 seconds light-painting for a 8 seconds exposure). We tried that in the past in bulb mode, but having to hold the button while operating the light was just too much. Now I only need to press the trigger once, do the light, turn it off, and hide behind Kim until the picture is done. By doing a longer exposure, we get much more light coming in the sensor (stars, milkyway...). Thanks Ian Norman for your help with this! We'll give much more details about this technique in the upcoming weeks. I think we're demonstrating it in different situations in 4 other episodes ;) This is the third of a series of five episodes created in Menorca, Spain at the Photopills Camp 2018. https://www.photopills.com Thanks to the Photopills team for this incredible week :) Additional footage, images & drone shots: Ian Norman (Lonely Speck), Lucas Olmedo (Lucroit) Antoni Cladera Barceló (Photopills), Germán Marquès (Photopills) Video edit by Abraham Mercado @ the Xangle studio ----------- Learn this technique: http://fb.com/groups/ericpare Tubes and gear: https://ericpare.com/gear --- About the Tube Stories We're a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight.
