🌏 Want to restore the planet's ecosystems and see your impact in monthly videos? The first 200 people to join Planet Wild with my code will get the first month for free at https://www.planetwild.com/engineerin... If you want to get to know them better first, check out their latest video: 🌲Restoring an ancient forest by doing the opposite of tree planting https://www.planetwild.com/engineerin... In this video we’re going to get serious about mining for the energy transition. We're going to find out where emissions in mining come from, what solutions are available, and check in on progress from the industry towards that goal. The general vibe is that we can make mining less harmful to the environment, it can be zero emissions, companies are already making moves in that direction and we’re going to find out about the technologies they’re using to achieve that. But the serious part is: mining doesn’t come without a local environmental cost. It can’t. This is one of those tricky tradeoff situations, where we have to do something a little bit bad, to prevent something very bad from happening. If you would like to help develop the Engineering with Rosie channel, you could consider joining the Patreon community, where there is a chat community (and Patreon-only Discord server) about topics covered in the videos and suggestions for future videos and production quality improvements. / engineeringwithrosie Or for a one-off contribution you can support by buying a coffee ☕️ here — https://www.buymeacoffee.com/engwithr...
