In the spring of 2015, the residents of Mushkapat, a picturesque alpine village in Nagorno Karabakh’s Martuni Region, celebrated the opening of their brand-new community center. The multifunctional facility, comprising the mayor’s office, the post office, a medical clinic, a computer center, and an event hall, was built by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, with donations from French-Armenian benefactors and additional support from the government of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh). Like scores of other community centers built by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund across Artsakh and Armenia, Mushkapat’s own has significantly improved the daily lives of villagers, by integrating various services in a central structure and functioning as a wonderful gathering place for the community.
