You should make this. This is an easy project to create your own guitar cab. Apple crate guitar cab - I turned an old apple crate into a 1x12" guitar speaker cabinet. I've made a few open and closed back speaker cabs but after watching the Jim Lil video on guitar speaker cabs it became apparent that most elements don't matter, hence the apple crate guitar cab. To build an apple crate speaker cabinet you'll need an apple crate large enough to fit a 12" speaker, a potato sack (for the front grille) and some other pallet timber. Some handy extras are T nuts to git the 12" speaker to the speaker baffle and some Bison wax to give it a nice finish. You'll also need a jack socket (I used a Telecaster jack socket) and some speaker wire and connectors. Reinforce the apple crate, fit the speaker to the baffle and then make another frame for the grille cloth. I made a small external frame to hold the baffle and grille cloth in the speaker cabinet too. Cut a handle in the top and you're done. You have a diy guitar speaker cabinet made from an apple crate. This is the most fun diy speaker cab project I've done to date and this diy speaker cab is also one of the easiest projects as the apple crate means a lot of the work is already done.
