This is a very competent player with Wolfson WM8741 24 bit DAC and plain vanilla KSS-213C. But... it reads ANY CD at just 50µW of power which is half of what most players need to read reliably. Arcam do this consistently, with some of their units needing only half of it again (25µW). After fixing the mechanics, problem with this unit appears to be a tray driver IC200 (marked on the diagram as U102). Other than superior reading ability, what I like in this unit is CD-Text feature which was so often omitted by the manufacturers. Big kudos to Arcam for making their schematics available on their website! If only others followed.
