Have you ever heard of a place in Europe famous for its beautiful women? A place where most women look like models? At the same time, a place where there is supposedly one man for every seven women? A place that male tourists, mainly from Western Europe, call paradise on earth, By all standards, facts, visitor reviews and legends, the most beautiful women in the Balkans live in Banja Luka. The second, equally astonishing observation concerns the number of ladies in Banja Luka. To the eyes of the visitors, it seems as if only women lived in this city, and everyone talks about it. This has also created the legend that the female/male ratio in Banja Luka is 7:1. Yes, seven women for one man. But according to the last census of 2013, this is false. However, Banja Luka is Bosnia-Herzegovina's overall winner when it comes to singles, with around 20,000 single women. The truth is that a brief tour of the central streets of Banja Luka leads us to believe that this ratio of 7 to 1 is not so far from reality. The reason why male tourists believe that there are more women than men in Banja Luka is simple: they are so mesmerized by the beauty of the ladies that they do not notice anything else. Since the beauty and charm of the local women are well known throughout the region, the municipal officials came up with the idea of launching the project called "Banja Luka - the city of women", which includes the construction of a gate and two female statues at the city's two freeway entrances. Symbolically, these statues, each 18.5 meters high, would welcome all visitors to the city of women, unique in the world.
