Welcome back to Mum's incredible China adventure, picking up right where we left off! In this second part of her journey, we dive deep into the diverse wonders of Shenzhen, a city that constantly reinvents itself. We start our day at the peaceful Bore Chan Temple (般若禅寺), enjoying a tranquil morning retreat amidst the urban landscape after picking Mum up from the stylish G Hotel. Then, we're off to dizzying heights at the Galaxy Twin Towers, the tallest twin towers in China, soaring an astonishing 369 meters! We ascend to the exclusive rooftop helipad, where we're treated to breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Shenzhen's futuristic skyline. It’s an absolutely amazing perspective of this dynamic city. Next, we witness a fascinating modern phenomenon: drone deliveries! While many vloggers show ordering them, we take you directly to the source – the rooftop launchpad at Coco Park, the base of China's very first drone delivery service. We watch the drones gracefully take flight, then head to the designated delivery spot to collect our own ordered coffee – a truly cutting-edge experience that highlights Shenzhen's innovation! We then journey further into the vibrant city center, surrounded by more towering buildings and awe-inspiring architecture that define Shenzhen's futuristic identity. As evening approaches, we indulge in a hearty dinner featuring a whole leg of succulent Mongolian lamb, a delicious culinary highlight. As night falls, I have a special surprise for Mum: Shenzhen's spectacular light show! We perfectly time our arrival to the Futian CBD, where all the surrounding buildings light up simultaneously, creating a mesmerizing, synchronized display of lights and colors. The view is absolutely unforgettable. Our adventure then shifts to Dapeng, on the far eastern side of the city. This area feels like a refreshing seaside resort, a world away from the urban core, with beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. We meet up with my Chinese in-laws for a delightful seafood lunch, feasting on fresh crabs, prawns, fish, and various shellfish. We take a leisurely stroll around Dapeng Old Town and explore the historic Dapeng Fortress, soaking in its charming past. Finally, as night descends, we head to the lively Shuiwei 1368 area in Futian, a transformed district now buzzing as a popular bar street. We enjoy drinks and shots, soaking in the energetic nightlife. Our last stop is SeaWorld in Shekou, Nanshan district, a well-known international hub. Here, we witness a fantastic light and fountain show, bringing our incredible Shenzhen exploration to a dazzling close.
