The cultural troupe of Aghunaqa area presenting a cultural item titled ‘Imunopi Sujo Sujo’ during the ‘Experiencing God Together through Culture’ programme held as part of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council 23rd Triennial and 87th Annual Gathering 2024 on February 4. Imunopi Sujo Sujo — is a particular pastime, unique to the Suruhuto region of Zunheboto district, and has now gained a wider adoption in contemporary Sumi culture. According to oral traditions, this recreational activity was utilized by elders to impart important life lessons to young boys about the significance of close brotherly bonds and harmonious living. Its deeper purpose was to model respectful, tight-knit relationships between brothers. The cultural event was held at Local Ground, Niuland Town and was graced by Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Government of Nagaland, Jacob Zhimomi, as the special guest of honour. Nagaland Baptist Church Council 23rd Triennial and 87th Annual Gathering 2024 was held on the theme ‘Experiencing God Together – Acts 2: 42-47’ at Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Niuland from February 1 to 4.
