Japan's Mount Fuji gets season's first snowfall, 21 days later than usual | ABS-CBN News

Japan's Mount Fuji got the season's first snow on Thursday (October 23), 21 days later than usual, according to the Kofu Local Meteorological Observatory. This year's snowfall was however 15 days earlier than last year, which occurred on November 7. The observatory said that the snowfall was caused by the presence of clouds and cold air above the mountain since Wednesday (October 22), Kyodo News reported. Last year, snow observed on Mount Fuji was more than a month late compared to the year before, setting a record for the latest snowfall in 130 years, according to Japan's Meteorological Agency.
