Let's see what everyday life was like in the Polish countryside in 1979? In the film, we will see the infrastructure that prevailed at the time, the equipment and machinery that farmers had at their disposal and how the inhabitants of a typical Polish village lived in 1979. We will show you the everyday reality of the inhabitants of a Polish village. You will see a normal, typical Polish village at the end of the 1970s (the recording was probably made in 1979). You can feel the prevailing atmosphere of the People's Republic of Poland and those times. The shots were taken in the village of Chełmno nad Nerem. The recorder focuses on the grounds of the former German extermination camp (Kulmhof am Nehr), which was located in this village. Claude Lanzmann and his crew took the footage while shooting his film Shoah. The footage has been ‘tweaked’, and the quality has been significantly improved. The resolution has been increased so that even more detail can be seen in full HD. The source material is owned by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
