NJ Other Firearm Guide – What Is an NJ Other? In this video I break down what qualifies as an NJ Other firearm. I show my own NJ Other and explain the legal definition: a firearm not classified as a rifle, pistol, or shotgun because it is designed for two-handed use and is not meant to be fired from the shoulder. According to the NJ Attorney General’s letter, “The submitted Troy Industries A4 Other Firearm has an overall length of 26.5 inches with a stabilizing arm brace and is not designed to be fired from the shoulder.” To be considered an Other in NJ, a firearm must have a barrel under 16 inches, an overall length of at least 26 inches, use a stabilizing brace instead of a stock, and have a vertical foregrip (required).
