In this video I show an experimental fine-tuning add-on PCB that uses a varicap (variable-capacitance) diode to add a smooth fine tune control to the existing shortwave front end. I explain the concept (reverse-biasing the varicap to change C), walk through the PCB, bias network, and isolation from the tube circuitry, then test the module on-air to see if it’s useful and practical for everyday shortwave listening. This is an experiment—expect follow-ups with refinements, measurements, and different radios.
