Oriole & Linda Konone // Live @ Erica Synths Garage
Oriole performs using Korg Volca Sample, Korg Volca FM, Korg Volca Keys, Korg Delay Monotron, Roland SP-404 SX, Korg Kaoss pad, Korg Kaossilator. Oriole is one of Latvia’s most renowned beat-makers. He is part of the “Dirty Deal Audio” beat-maker collective and one of the founders of their electronic music label. He’s been passionate about creating music since 2002, which is also when he first started producing. Initially he only used hispersonal computer, but now incorporates analog synthesizers, drum machines, samples, percussion and his own vocals. Oriole has been nominated in the category of best electronic album at the Latvian National Music Awards three years in a row (2012-2014) and his instrumental releases have been succesful and critically acclaimed. In 2013 Oriole created the soundtrack for the feature film Sēņotāji (Mushroomers). Linda Konone lives and works in Riga, Latvia. She has studied Audio Visual Communication Art and Electro-acoustic sound in Latvia and abroad. She primarily works with video, animation and live audio visual performances. Water happens to be the biggest inspiration for her works. In her work, Linda Konone engages with the interactivity of movement and image. She has worked with the artist Raimonds Tiguls and the group 1/2H 1/2W at previous Skaņu Mežs festivals. Their last audiovisual project, REAL, was created in collaboration with choreographers from Poland and the musician Marcik Butler. MORE: / oriole / zilums http://ericasynths.lv/garage
