Carnavalito by Jose Luis Merlin. (b 1952). This is the fourth movement of Suite del Recuerdo, one of my favorite collections of guitar pieces. I really enjoy playing this piece, particularly the flamenco-esque strumming sections. I have played the entire Suite over the years but this movement and the last movement Joropo are my favorites. Every movement in Suite del Recuerdo is pretty cool and fun to play, but the fourth movement is maybe the most dynamic.
