Three wild elephants, including two calves, died after being electrocuted by a live electric wire at the Panichanda area under the Rani forest range in Assam's Kamrup district today. "Three elephants have been electrocuted here today, adjacent to the Rani Reserve Forest. The cause of death is electrocution, and it's an accident, as we can see in the preliminary investigation. The female elephant, along with two calves, came to the garden and try to pull a tree, due to which the tree came in contact with the live wires, leading to electrocution. As of now, we're already looking into the matter, and we're in touch with APDCL because similar instances have happened before. So, we had already requested APDCL to put concealed wires wherever live wires are hanging," says DFO of Kamrup East Division Rohini Saikia. #assam #latestnews #brekingnews Indian Journo is the medium of informing you on the latest and various news events and will help you stay up to date on the events shaping our world.
