Hey everyone! Today, I had the cool idea to see how far I could get in Wild Horse Islands by ONLY trading horses! I got some pretty good deals… (By the way, shoutout to everyone who did trades with me today! I gotta thank you :D) Want to try this out yourself? Feel free- I’ve left a more detailed copy of rules below: — • CHALLENGE RULES • — ✯ Through the duration of the challenge, you may only catch one horse- that being the horse you get on Tutorial Island. No catching any others! ~ (PS: Whether or not you refresh Tutorial Island for a specific horse is up to you. I personally chose not to!) ✯ When you start the challenge, you may only trade your starter horse- nothing else. (ex: harvested resources, harvesters, tack, etc.) ✯ You may not claim any daily rewards or free 40-minute tokens. ✯ You may not purchase anything from horse shops, NPC shops, player markets, etc. ✯ You may not obtain horses or items in any way besides trading. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Purchase Turn ins (event resources, training reciepts, volcanic minerals, relics, etc.) Treasure Quests Fishing Catching Breeding Mining ~ Any items obtained without trading that may be useful (ex: halters for leading independent horses) may be locked and/or kept in storage, but not used in the challenge. ✯ You cannot sell items at your island market. ✯ You may collect resources, do quests, mine, etc. to obtain enough player XP to unlock trading/the Trading Hub. However, you must sell any items you recieve from that, and after that you may not earn more levels. ✯ You may not recieve items for free from other players (to prevent potential cheating). ✯ You may trade in any of the following locations: Mainland (low tier islands) Training Island Event Hubs Breeding Hub Trading Hub Private Islands (ex: people are trading horses from their barn/pasture) ✯ You may ask to offer for other people’s horses/items, including chat ads and markets with items listed as ft. ✯ You may server hop at any time during the challenge. ✯ You may trade the same person twice in a row so long as they initiate the trade the second time. (ex: you offered for one of their horses first, that trade goes through and then they ask to offer for one of your items) ✯ Avoid completing trades with the same person more than 3 times in a row. (If a trade is not done, it does not count.) ✯ I personally gave myself a set time for this challenge, that being at least 1 hour of trading a week, with a maximum of 7 hours a week (1 hour a day). Feel free to set your own time limits, use mine or none at all- it’s up to you! ✯ I highly reccomend creating an alt account for this challenge. However, if you choose to do this on your main, you can just catch a random qh/appa/paint for the challenge and not use any of your other items. ✯ You may choose to use external websites (ex: Twitter, Reddit, Discord servers, etc.) for trading. High school hit me like a ton of bricks, and I just don’t have the time or energy to work on such a big project! It’s a shame, but I do intend on possibly trying out a different RP project in the future. Additionally, not having enough people to play all the roles meant I got basically nothing done, so if I do attempt this again there will not be public tryouts. Sorry D:
