This is the Dame Shirley Bassey Archive 2022 edition. The songs I have chosen for this edition are Smile, I was Here, I Owe It All To You and Almost Like Being In Love from the 2020 album I Owe It All To You. The year began with Dame Shirley Bassey opening the Baftas at the Royal Albert Hall with Diamonds Are Forever to a standing ovation wearing a stunning Isabell Kristensen gown, afterward at the Grosvenor House after party DSB stunned in another new gown, receiving another standing ovation. The headlines flowed with praise for the performance and how great DSB looked. In July Dame Shirley attended the 2022 Rose Ball in Monaco with good friends Manel Dalgo , Thomas Schmeider and Fidel Rodrigues, and had fun with Dita Von Teese. Then off to Austria for the Glock ball with Nikki Hambi, Jenny Kern and Sebastian Knoerr. Back in Monaco for a concert by Christina Aguilera. Choice magazine put DSB on the cover of their September issue with a 4 page spread on her life. On September 06 DSB attended the Queen Machine Symphonic fundraiser for Fight Aids Monaco where Manel attended as Montserrat Caballé. A catch up with Michael Flatley and then time to take London by storm again. At the Sound Of 007 concert at the Royal Albert Hall, Dame Shirley opened the show with both Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever in a stunning new gown by Spanish designer Antonio Velasco. The audience missed the magnificent cape that went with the gown but it got a viewing with the press wall backstage after. The whole combination photographed to great effect by Kiko Alcazar which would become DSB’s Christmas card image for the year. Back in the UK for Geri Horner’s 50th birthday bash in November, and Christmas in Monaco and a fun New Years Eve with entertainment from Georgia Cécile. I hope this series of videos will help tell Dame Shirley's story in a lineal way for fans new and old. As a child whenever I found a photo of Dame Shirley I would wonder what the story behind the picture was, and I still do. I would cut out news clippings and put together multiple scrapbooks, then the internet came along and an explosion of knowledge. Now I know some of the stories behind many of the photos and hope you get enjoyment in finding these stories too.
