PHMSA’s June 25, 2025, information briefing provided the community of Upper Makefield Township, Pennsylvania an opportunity to learn more about the agency’s April 29, 2025, Consent Order and Agreement with Energy Transfer (Sunoco), L.P. The Consent Order and Agreement established corrective measures for the company to adhere to following a leak involving its Twin Oaks Pipeline in January 2025. The Consent Order and Agreement directed Energy Transfer to implement a series of actions along the entire 105-mile Twin Oaks Pipeline system, ensuring the conditions that led to the pipeline failure do not exist elsewhere along the line. During the session, PHMSA staff explained what is required by the Consent Order and Agreement and answered questions from the public.
