In China, seven universities offer courses for future 'data scientists'. The students learn how to read and analyse Big Data, and to use it for the economy in different industrial sectors - such as banking, finance, insurance. The aim is to educate a new generation of data analysts who can help resolve the problems of new industries, e.g. in the banking sector, where big data is used in risk management and against fraud. With a target of 40,000 graduates before the end of the year China’s new experts look set to make the country a leader in big data.
