In this universe, countries are representative of the general population, not their government. However, they still have their own opinions and may not always be fully accurate to the people. They can still work for the government or enlist in the army but it does not mean they represent either. RSFSR: He used to be the Bolshevik party, or the Red Army, in the russian civil war. Therefore he is older than the USSR. He doesn’t go outside of the country very often, and so most other countries don’t know who he is or what he looks like. They might recognize him from before the USSR was formed though. He works in the government because he was upset with being incapable of dictating the country in his previous life (Bolsheviks). USSR: He was conscribed to the military, which is uncommon for most countries. This is because of the extremely large amount of Soviet casualties and numbers during WW2. It’s also how he lost his eye. USA: He enlisted in the air force, but didn’t see much risky combat. It was more for a passion of aircrafts than a duty to the war cause. “MLAD,” “CHARLES,” “Fellow Countryman”; all of these are code words in the Soviet spy program, specifically on the Manhattan, or A-Bomb Project. MLAD “Young man” - codename for Ted Hall, an american who spied on the manhattan project for the Soviets in order to prevent a US monopoly on atomic weaponry. CHARLES - codename for Klaus Fuchs, a german communist who similarly spied on the manhattan project for the Soviets.
