#wb 30 years ago today, The WB TV network premiered! The network went on to have 11 years of scouting audiences outside the Big Four networks, and had numerous hit shows including Dawson's Creek, Buffy, 7th Heaven, Charmed, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, and The Wayans Bros. The WB has since been outlived by The CW, which launched in 2006 as a replacement for both The WB and UPN. This taping, airing off The WB's New York City outlet, WPIX (channel 11), is from Sweet Valley High and a revival of Flipper. Both shows didn't air on The WB, but they did air on WPIX, and there are still plenty of WB promos in here. The network's early days were symbolized with exterior shots of the Warner Bros. studios (one half of the network's ownership), and Michigan J. Frog, a Looney Tunes character who was the network's mascot. Also the tape is once again not the best. It kept adjusting the tracking automatically, and eventually by the time the tape reached the end it was at better tracking. Of course.
