💧See Why This Ugandan Headmaster Can’t Stop Smiling💧The Reason Will Inspire You! 🙌 😃 As part of The WASH Foundation's comprehensive community WASH project, drilling teams struck water reserves at Magodes and Asinge Primary Schools in Tororo, Uganda! Hear testimonial from Headmaster, Mica Oyapel and student WASH club president, Bridget Namono as they highlight the transformative impact these new water wells have on their daily life. In Uganda’s Tororo District, access to improved water, sanitation, and hygiene resources has been a longstanding challenge. Thanks to The WASH Foundation’s comprehensive community WASH project, communities are now empowered to improve health and create brighter futures. The community’s gratitude shines through in their video message. Through this video you can hear directly from those whose lives have been impacted by this project. Before the wells, students at Magodes Primary School walked two kilometers to fetch water from a shallow stream, disrupting their education and risking their health. Now, clean water is available on school grounds, allowing students to focus on learning while improving hygiene practices. Parents share their gratitude for the improved safety of their children, and teachers report increased attendance and enthusiasm in the classroom. Each well is managed by community members trained in maintenance and sustainable practices, ensuring long-term benefits for over 8,000 students and their families. This approach empowers communities to take responsibility of their water resources, fostering resilience and independence. Access to clean water also reduces illness-related absenteeism and supports hygiene practices, especially for girls during menstruation. The WASH Foundation continues its mission to expand clean water access in Tororo and beyond. With your support, we can empower more communities to improve health through sustainable solutions.
