Hello every one my name is Sangam Tamang (writer and director of Kalo Darpan Series) and basically i am from Nepal. After the tragic death of my father who was an INDIA ARMY I had to let go all my Nepali patriotic feeling and start living with my mother at Siliguri Darjeeling. Its been 4 years now, Each day trying to fit in with oblique rays of Darjeeling. and i know just 4 years is not enough for me to understand the life and life style of Darjeeling and Darjeleing to accept me as one of them. In this 4 years of my experience i see her fighting and struggling not only for her own identity but also struggling for a daily bread to feed her family just with a support of daily wages from TEA GARDEN which is just INR 130 to 190 per day. Just like an old men eye I can see the cracks and wound in this land, I can see the blood too and a joyous leach satisfying their thirst from each drop. Is Darjeeling ignoring it or has it become part of its life style. i know just 4 years is not enough for me to understand the life and life style of Darjeeling. Since, just like an artist with a brush, here i am with my minimal camera gadgets and aspiring artist from Darjeeling presenting you all KALO DARPAN SERIES focusing on true events of darjeeling.
