▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ♫ When I was, a young boy, my internet introduced me to YouTube.. ♫ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I created my channel on 2nd October 2007 after seeing my partner at the time upload their first GMV to Final Fantasy. Little did I know it would change my life completely. I started with Windows Movie Maker, and created roughly about 80 videos - a lot of these videos were uploaded onto my channel but I either took them down in fear of getting copyright strikes or was just too embarrassed they were a thing that existed. The last video I ever uploaded using only Windows Movie Maker was ''Re-birthing the Devil'' uploaded January 12, 2009 - in dedication to my two very closest friends on Youtube at the time. I was introduced to Sony Vegas Pro 8 in the new year of 2009 and started to play around with it, I was nervous and so there was a transitional phase where I made my videos -rawly edited - in WMM and then put them in Vegas for effects - this was from Jan '09 to June '09. My first video purely using Sony Vegas was 'Nemo Ante Mortem Beatus' featured in this video edited in August 2009 - from there I uninstalled Windows Movie Maker and embraced a new era of my editing in this place. Finding my own style and watching my subscribers grow. https://web.archive.org/web/200904031... Here is what my channel looked like in April 2009. With my sub count back at 315 :D I primarily was a GMV editor, using mostly Devil May Cry 3 and 4 for the longest time. Occasionally shoving some Final Fantasy in there, I was more into DMC than FF obviously. My first Anime Music Video was an Elfen Lied video as a birthday present for a Youtube Girlfriend I had in November 2010 - I wasn't as confident with AMVs as I was with GMVs but I slowly and steadily practiced. In July 2011 I opened up my first Youtube Studio - Wings of Darkness, I held the auditions on my own channel and welcomed in a style of editing I absolutely adored and wished to find others who shared my feelings on Darkstyle. 2013 was my best year for editing I feel, I was incredibly active during this year, I was uploading 3 videos a month nearly! My efforts were rewarded by winning Editor of the Year in the Annual GMV Awards contest. This was also the year I hit 1000 subscribers. A huge milestone for my channel and myself. 2014 onward newcomers to the editing community started calling me things like ''one of the greats'' or something of the sort, it was a weird feeling, to be looked up to by others coming onto the site, I wasn't anything that great, I had only just hit over 1600 subscribers but I'll be honest, it felt great having people look up to you because you just loved what you were doing. Here I am now, 2017 crossing over into 2018. Just passed 3000 subscribers and I am more confident with AMVs, with my last 4 videos featured in this video. I was originally going to make a full GMV with the song of ''Lacrymosa'' by Evanescence as that song is the reason behind my namesake on Youtube. However, I really wanted this to be a showcase of my years here, instead of just showing what I can do now for the future. I feel defined by an editor and I feel I know where my place is here on Youtube.
