Sympathetic Magic, Using Symbols As Conduits Of Spiritual Power And Authority

I'm not sure how many people are familiar with the term "sympathetic magic" but in some sense, it is a catch-all for many of the ideas and practices we find in a variety of different religions. Put simply, sympathetic magic is the practice of using symbols and symbolic actions in an effort to create change in the world. I share, in this video, a story about my own experience with using sympathetic magic and how it helped me meet my wife. I sometimes refer to sympathetic magic as 'symbolic prayer', because prayer itself is a form of sympathetic magic. We find powerful examples of magick in the Bible, such as numbers chapter 5. The ancient Egyptians pioneered some of the earliest complex systems of sympathetic magic and even Biblical tradition seems to draw on this older, Egyptian source.
