Kenny King and the Be Bops were a 5 piece band from Appleton/New London, Wisconsin, led by Kenny Jaeger (born 1941, New London, WI). They played gigs around the Fox Valley area between 1958 and 1963. They played mostly cover tunes, but recorded two originals songs in September of 1962. The songs were written by guitar player Rick Smolinski (a.k.a. Ricky Leigh), who also played in Denny Noie & The 4th Of Never, Denny Noie And The In-Crowd, and the first Wisconsin Rockabilly 45, with The White Caps. They recorded at the legendary Cuca Records in Sauk City, WI. Kenny and Darryl are brothers, and Tom is their cousin. There were 4 guitar players who were members at various times during the life the band...two in the band at any given time.
