In Thunder, Lightning and Rain (2021): Depicts the lives of three marginalised women of colour and caste from India. While these women open their hearts out and narrate their lives from their childhood about the racism, systematic abuse, domestic violence, sexism, etc., they had faced, the camera intently listens and finds depths of their emotions. The stories of their endurance, how they challenged society’s status quo and still continue to do the same, truly reflect on the ambiguity of the term “women empowerment”.
