Pisol Fort isn’t just another trek — it’s a time capsule set atop a narrow mountain with cliffs, caves, and a peaceful lake to welcome you. ⛰️ Trek Details: Height: ~3,500 ft (approx. 1,070 meters above sea level) Trek Difficulty: Easy Time to Climb: ~1 hour from base village Time to Explore Fort Top: ~1 hour - ~1 hour 30 mins Total Duration (return trip): 2.5 – 3 hours Trail Terrain: Village path → rock-cut steps → narrow cleft → fort plateau 🏞️ Highlights at the Top As you ascend a natural stone cleft through layers of ancient fort walls, you’re welcomed into a wide mountaintop filled with surprises: 🪨 Beautiful rock-cut water tanks ⛰️ Carved caves — one ideal for staying overnight 🪷 Remains of a stone arch (of the old Rang Mahal) 🌊 A serene lake sitting right at the top of the fort 🌄 Magnificent 360° views from the fort’s outer cliff — endless hills, farmlands, and the rugged Selbari Dolbari range in every direction 🕰️ Best Time to Visit: October to March – Cool and pleasant for trekking Monsoon (June–September) – Glorious green landscapes and misty magic, though trails can be slippery 📜 A Bit of History: The origins of Pisol Fort remain somewhat of a mystery, yet it stands as part of a chain of strategic hill forts in the region, along with Galna, Kankrala, and Dermal.
