Size runs are issues from the factory floor when patterns are first made, but how do vintage pattern sizes compare to one another? This is not usually a question that can be answered until you get into the 1970’s. However, I realized I had 3, that’s right 3, consecutive sizes in an original 1950’s pattern (Butterick 7383). So today I am comparing vintage pattern sizes from the 1950’s by lining them up on top of one another and measuring them for us all!
