How To Value Avios - Is The Redemption You're Planning Good Value??

I've mentioned Avios in a number of my videos about the British Airways Executive Club, but I wanted to make a dedicated video on the subject. Mainly as there is now a mechanism through which you can "cash out" your avios, which sets a floor valuation on what an avios is worth, which now makes it very easy to tell if a redemption you're considering is good value. But also because several of you have commented that I whistle through the maths part of my videos pretty quickly and could benefit from explaining things more slowly. I'll start by explaining how the floor valuation comes about. I then explain how to value a flight redemption to see whether its good value. I also look at other forms of redemption as once you've mastered the principals involved in the valuation, you can use it with all redemptions. I'll explain when you might want to ignore this floor valuation and redeem avios even if its not generating the best value.
