Hello! It's been a while, but the rack is back! I still haven't moved, but at least my little home studio/office has received a new coat of paint, and is ready to go until we eventually get a new place. Unfortunately, my current schedule may not permit me to post these episodes on a regular, weekly basis like I used to (though I will try my best!). Going forward, I also wish to make more "unrestricted patches" in the time that I can spare for recording videos. While I really enjoy the 3 module format, I'm getting ready for a change of pace. Don't worry, I won't be shelving this series just yet. My plan is to keep it going until episode 150, just because it's such a nice, even number. That should be about 5-6 months of videos, provided I actually manage to stick to the weekly posts. I do have a couple of new modules in the rack, as you can see, and I want to make sure I explore those in the upcoming 3 module patches. I'll also be including the Korg SQ-1 as a "module" as well, because I think it's a good fit as such. Now, let's get to the… Patch notes: Mimeophon has taken the place of my beloved DLD and the Black Hole DSP, covering both delays and reverb, and also making room for a couple of other things. If you're anything like me, the first "exotic" patch you want to try on the Mimeophon is to use it as a resonator/Karplus-Strong sound source. This patch is a fairly straightforward take on that. Plaits is in the filtered noise mode, and Mimeophon acts as a resonator (by setting it to Zone 0, a.k.a. minimal delay times, and ramping up the repeats) to add some tone to the noise. I'm using Wogglebug's Smooth and Stepped random CV's to modulate Plaits' clock frequency (Timbre) and filter resonance (Morph) respectively. Then, the twist: Using Wogglebug's burst gate output to occasionally push Mimeophon's zone setting from resonator to looper territory, creating little repeated phrases and stutters. All in all, it makes for a lovely drone machine, this thing. * * Thanks for watching! :) Feel free to request upcoming module combinations from my rack, and check out the #3modulechallenge for more 3 module patches! ➢ Series overview: https://goo.gl/TyP8jS ➢ Modulargrid: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/v... ➢ ➢ Support the channel by buying some music via https://comparativeirrelevance.bandca... https://linktr.ee/comparativeirrelevance
