The Cleveland Browns keep popping up in the same spot across multiple post-Combine mock drafts — and the trend is hard to ignore. At pick No. 6 in the 2026 NFL Draft, a growing number of analysts are projecting Cleveland to go offensive line. Whether it’s Miami tackle Francis Mauigoa or Utah standout Spencer Fano, the logic is pretty consistent: the Browns have to rebuild the trenches if they want their offense — and especially their quarterback situation — to stabilize moving forward. When you look at the current state of the roster, it makes sense why the mocks keep leaning that way. Cleveland’s offensive line has undergone a massive overhaul this offseason, and the team has already started reshaping the unit with moves like acquiring veteran tackle Tytus Howard. The reality is the Browns could lose multiple starters up front, leaving the protection unit in flux heading into 2026. For a team that struggled with consistency at quarterback and protection last season, investing a premium pick in a franchise tackle could be the safest and smartest path forward. That’s why the post-Combine buzz keeps pointing in the same direction: build the line first, then let everything else fall into place. If Cleveland truly plans to evaluate Shedeur Sanders or any quarterback competing in that room, protecting them has to be priority number one. With two first-round picks and a roster that clearly needs stability in the trenches, don’t be surprised if the Browns walk away from pick No. 6 with a cornerstone offensive lineman — and officially begin the next phase of rebuilding the offense from the inside out.
