Welcome to Gods and Heroes of Ancient Greece, where MyLinda Butterworth of Totally Stories interprets the written word for your listening pleasure. Today we conclude the ‘The Last Tantalides’ with part three of 'Iphigenia in the Land of Tauri.' King Thoas arrives to find that the sacrifice has not occurred yet and questions Iphigenia concerning the problem and why she is carrying the image of Artemis. Iphigenia spins a great tale about why she has to take the prisoners and the image to the grotto to be cleansed before they can be sacrificed. Thoas agrees and Iphigenia, Orestes, Pylades, and a small retinue of slaves head to the grotto. While the slaves are waiting out of sight the three make their way to the waiting boat, when one of the slaves realizes what is happening he runs to tell the king. The king gathers a large retinue to stop their escape when Pallas Athene appears in all her glory before them. What does Athene have in store for King Thoas? Will Iphigenia and her brother escape? Listen in for the whole story. #GodsandHeroes #SpokenWord #escape #Iphigenia #Orestes #Thoas #Greece #stories #MyLindaButterworth #TotallyStories Hit the like button if you enjoyed today's story it truly helps.
