Patient: "Four months ago I had skin removal surgery. I trusted a surgeon who told me that I would be flat. As you can see, I'm not. I was originally just going to do a panniculectomy, which is the apron of overhang, but they talked me into doing the vertical and horizontal incision. I was told I was going to have a fleur-de-lis tummy tuck. This is what I've been left with. What even is my belly button? It's awful." Dr. Hochstein: "I'm not really a big fan of the vertical incisions. I've treated many patients with significant weight loss, probably more significant than this patient, and I prefer to do a circumferential surgery, a body lift. I've never done a vertical incision because I think you're just trading one problem for another, and I think my results are excellent. As far as looking at her results, I think that she still has loose skin. I mean, this is, to me, still a pre-op patient that could benefit from a body lift. I think it's sad. I think she obviously spent a lot of money. I think she has gone through a significant recovery process and now looking at probably another surgery to get the result that she wants and a result that I think she be happy with, and also the surgeon will be satisfied. I can tell you if this was my patient, I would not be satisfied with that result." _______ For more information please visit https://www.lhochsteinmd.com/ or call (305) 931-3338.
