Shirley Bassey appears on the Grand Stage in Ankara Turkey at the officially televised drawing of the European Lottery event. In this clip Shirley performs one of her hits, "I Who Have Nothing". After her performance Shirley gives a short interview. Shirley wore a green dress most likely designed by Doug Darnell many times during performances in the 1990s. And, the last time she wore it was during her 1997 60th Birthday Show where Joe Pasquale cut the bottom off with scissors during a comedy skit. Background on Dress: Lesley Joseph was in the audience and retrieved the piece of sequined garment when the show was over, as a momento. During the run of Dick Whittington at the Wimbledon Theatre, Lesley gave the spoils to Keith Simmons, with the suggestion that the garment could be framed and perhaps auctioned for a good cause. Keith contacted LWT who contributed the photographs, then asked Shirley and Joe to sign them. He then asked designer Michael Ralph to create this magnificent collectors' item as a unique presentation of a very unusual piece of showbusiness memorabilia. Keith presented it to The Grand Order of Water Rats to be auctioned for their own charitable cause. It was auctioned at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane on July 18, 1999 by actor Gordon Kaye. It was called "A Night of Knights" and the top table consisted of such luminaries as Dame Vera Lynn, Dome Thora Hird, Sir John Mills, Sir Derek Jacobi and Sir Nigel Hawthorne, just to name a few. They all signed the back of the presentation. LYRICS I, I who have nothing I, I who have no one Adore you and want you so I'm just a no one, with nothing to give you but oh I love you You, you buy her diamonds Bright, sparkling diamonds But believe me, dear, when I say That she can give you the world (sometimes: That you can give her the world) But she'll never love you the way I love you You can take her any place she wants To fancy clubs and restaurants But I can only watch you with My nose pressed up against the window paneI, I who have nothing I, I who have no one Must watch you, go dancing by Wrapped in the arms of somebody else When darling it is I Who love you I Love You.... I Love You... I Love You........
