Graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Mairi is influenced by her strong Gaelic background which comes through in her traditional style music. Taladh na Beinne Guirme, or The Blue Mountains Lullaby, is a song about the arrival, success and decline of Gaelic settlers and their language in Nova Scotia. The song was written by Goiridh Domhnallach and Brian hEadhra for Celtic Colours in 2004. Mairis cover of Taladh na Beinne Guirme will be a track on her up coming EP in 2021.
