How The Historical And Cultural Background Help Discover The Bible's True Meaning

This is the sixth episode in a How To Study The Bible podcast series. In this series, I share things I learned throughout the past twenty-three years in ministry and from ten years in Seminary getting a Bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry with an emphasis on women’s ministry and Bible study and a master’s degree in Biblical Studies as well. To know and hear from God personally and intimately and to find that healing and encouragement for yourselves is the purpose behind this series. Really that is the heart and purpose behind each of these episodes. When we experience this for ourselves, it is like a burning fire in our heart. We are set on fire to know Him more and we find pleasure in studying His word. In today’s episode, we will be focusing on the historical and cultural context of the biblical author and his audience and recognize how much that helps us get to the point of interpreting and discovering the true meaning of the Scripture for us today.
