Hello, this is Adam Khan, and welcome to your Azure Daily Minute for Tuesday, April 18th, 2023. Yesterday, Azure Elastic SAN's public preview expanded to more regions. Azure Elastic SAN is now available in additional regions of Australia East, North Europe, Sweden Central, UK South, West Europe, East US, East US 2, South Central US, and West US 3. Azure Elastic SAN is a cloud-native service that offers a scalable, cost-effective, high-performance, and comprehensive storage solution for a range of compute options. Elastic SAN is designed for large scale IO-intensive workloads and top tier databases such as SQL, MariaDB, and support hosting the workloads on virtual machines, or containers such as Azure Kubernetes Service. Also on April 12th, User defined routes (UDR) and smaller required subnet sizes entered in public preview for Azure Container Apps on the Consumption + Dedicated plan structure. You can define UDRs to manage how outbound traffic is routed to your container app environment’s subnet by enabling network appliances such as firewalls on the new Consumption + Dedicated plan structure. In addition, with the new plan structure, the minimum subnet size required is a /27 CIDR. A minimum subnet size of /23 is still required for container apps created on the existing Consumption plan. Azure Container Apps is a fully managed environment that enables you to run microservices and containerized applications on a serverless platform.
