This build takes the excellent handling of the BMW 2002 and pairs it with massive, reliable power by swapping in a turbocharged S52 M3 engine (3.2-liter). Manon achieved a staggering 600 horsepower on E85 fuel, making this lightweight classic a true modern performance monster. Key details discussed in the video: The M3 Transplant: This 2002 is powered by an S52 motor from a late-model E36 M3. Manon favors automatic-model 2002 bodies because they came with a wider transmission tunnel, making the engine and bigger transmission swap easier. Power and Internals: The engine runs on a 10:1 compression ratio and 11 lbs. of boost. It features modified rods and pistons to handle the competition engineering turbocharger. Unique Tech: The turbocharger is a billet aluminum piece that is grease-lubricated instead of using an oil line, requiring a few squirts of special grease every 2,000 miles. Handling & Braking: The car features factory turbo flares that were widened one inch. It runs with factory turbo four-piston cast brakes up front and upgraded 250mm drums in the rear.
