#offgridliving #alaskatravel #alaska Our livelihood is simple to explain. We moved off grid to Caribou Lodge Alaska to run it as a tourist destination. It has been quite the adventure to say the least! To move your children and your whole life out to the Alaska wilderness, 20 miles from the nearest town, to not only live off grid, but to make a living while doing so may seem crazy to many! It's a truly incredible place and we love to share it with visitors from all around the world. This year with travel restrictions it has been sad to see so many people have to cancel their dream vacation plans, but some are still able to make it, and we have been preparing the lodge and property for a few weeks now to make sure everything is tip top as much as possible. Winter is long and harsh up here so in late May after the snow melts there is constantly things that need attention and fixing up.
