Classic TV Theme: Roc (three versions • Stereo)

'Roc' was a 1991 sitcom dealing with a garbage collector (Charles S Dutton) and his family. A live episode in season one turned out so well, the entire second season was done live. Season three reverted to videotape. The show mixed serious topics with humor and was well received critically, but it ranked lower than 70th place in all three seasons. 'Roc' had several different theme songs over the years: 00:00 Opening titles, season one. 'God Bless the Child', a 1939 song written by jazz singer Billie Holiday, was theme #.1 It's performed by Jerry Lawson (of The Persuasions). 00:46 Opening titles, season three. Theme #2: Your Life Today' appeared midway through the show's run. Performed by En Vogue, composed by Thomas McElroy and Denzil Foster. 01:30 End credits, season one. A third theme, 'Keep On Walkin' On' by Fred Thaler, had been written to open the show. It ended up relegated to the end credits.
