Let's face it: some of us are picky eaters, and that can make travelling difficult. Coming from a place as landlocked as Colorado in the USA, I've never been a huge fan of fish or seafood. That's why when I first visited Japan years ago I was very nervous about finding food to eat there, given that the country's cuisine is world famous for being largely seafood based. The best part of travel is having your preconceptions of a place challenged, and I was so surprised to find that eating in Japan is no problem for someone who doesn't like fish or seafood! Japanese cuisine is so diverse and delicious, and so in this video I highlight some of the meals that I have come to love whenever I travel to Japan in hopes that it will excite others who are more meat and potato eaters such as myself. Whether dining at an izakaya, grilling premium wagyu beef tabletop with yakuniku, eating an ekiben on a bullet train, enjoying a warm shabu shabu hot pot, or indulging in a luxurious multi course keiseki meal... there are no shortage of incredible options for even the pickiest of eaters when travelling in Japan!
