The part are interchangeable, for example some people use 5 gallon regular buckets. i like the square 8 gallon ones as i didnt want to have a res over 30 gallons, there are 13 gallon square buckets available at indoorgrowingcanada.com . Also i used 2 inch bulkheads and some people use 1 inch ( no way) and some use 3 inch (over 20 CAD each one). I used the 2 inch as they were less than 10 each at the time. I feel the headaches that could be there if this system was all one glued unit would be crazy so i decided to put in the rubber couplers for easy tear down if i need to. Also i have seen people rasing these up and placing drains at the bottom of the buckets, while this most likely will work for the 18 bucks a drain unit and 13 for the small pumps i went with the pumps. this was a cost savings and also less holes to worry about leaking during a grow under the pot. I guess time will only tell if my choices were right or wrong but i think i have built a decent system. if i had to guess the issue might be the 2 inch vs 3 inch.
