Minn Kota Ulterra power trim issue and fix

The power trim would stop working after a few minutes and start working again (for a few minutes) after powering it off and back on. This would also keep it from stowing and deploying. The remote would say stowing and deploying but nothing was happening with the motor. The issue was in the contacts of the power trim module itself. Behind the contact plate the black wire was barely making contact with the plate most likely causing a high resistance or low voltage error in the trim module. I re-soldered the wire back on and haven’t had an issue since. I bet after two years of bouncing around and wacking a dock a few times put a lot of strain on that connection causing it to fail.
