Harsh and I stood in neighboring doors to capture our train cross the mighty Ganga on the 2.24 km Farakka barrage. I observed water gushing through the opened sluice gates. A few minutes after that, we went through New Farakka station and then negotiated a huge curve to cross the feeder canal. This connects to the Hoogly river and is about 40 km long.
