Feed the Soil is an initiative by Ladles of Love, launched in 2021 to build a circular economy that tackles food waste, youth unemployment, and food insecurity across the Cape Peninsula. By composting household food waste and distributing it to over 100 urban farmers, we’re helping enrich soil for organic farming while reducing methane emissions from landfills. Our programme supports local farmers, offers weekly pop-up markets, and creates a sustainable route to market for fresh, organic produce. With the recent donation of a refrigerated truck, we are expanding our reach, delivering farm-fresh produce to local restaurants and hotels.
