NOTES ON LYE: I prefer using lye beads (not flakes) which I've linked above and I also always use a mask when mixing my lye water. I use this mask: https://amzn.to/44iwvRA. Finally, I add half my lye to the water first, mix thoroughly, and then add the other half next. Make sure your lye looks relatively clear when you're done mixing and that there are no lye-beads still floating around. CALCULATING OIL AMOUNT FOR SIZE OF MOLD ======================================= Take the volume measurement of your mold in inches: length x width x height. Make sure to use the inside dimensions of the mold. Use that number and multiply by 0.4 to get an approximate number of ounces of oil for your mold. For example, the purple Amazon mold is 10" x 2.5" x 3" = 75. Take 75 x 0.4 = 30. This means that you can fit about 30 ounces of OIL in this mold (not the total soap amount, but the oil amount). This is just an estimate, but it's a great place to start! Thanks for watching! Simi & Troy
