Bob Marley rehearsing at Miami Criteria Studios in this exclusive video. Experience a behind-the-scenes look at one of music history's legends! ______________________________________ Bob Marley & The Wailers record their last rehearsal session at Criteria Studios in Miami, FL before heading north to Boston for the U.S. leg of the Uprising tour. This tour was cut short due to Bob’s illness and would include Bob’s last performance at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, PA on September 23rd, 1980. This rehearsal was filmed for 2 days on September 14-15, 1980. Bob was very tired and sick what you can witness on this performance of "African Herbsman" and he was suppose to sing it on his last tour. But unfortunately it didn't happened 😢 The lyrics of "African Herbsman" focus on the theme of herbalism, a subject that Bob Marley often referenced in his music, specifically alluding to the Rastafarian belief in the spiritual and medicinal powers of cannabis. "Herbsman" in Rastafarian culture represents someone who uses herbs for spiritual, healing, and mind-expanding purposes. The song also touches on themes of social justice, African heritage, and the liberation of the oppressed. Bob Marley uses the figure of the "African Herbsman" as a symbol of resistance to colonialism and imperialism, emphasizing the connection to Africa, the homeland of many people in the diaspora. Note: This song is remastered and it sounds pretty good 😍 Date: September 15, 1980, at the Criteria Studios (Miami, Florida) - Uprising Tour (first leg) in North America Filmed: by the late great Neville Garrick (RIP) 🎥
