This video is about a Korean assistant verb, -어 버리다. -어 버리다 is different from a verb, 버리다. The former one is an assistant verb while the latter one is a verb. Assistant verbs should be attached to (main) verbs. That’s why we can say ‘버려 버리다’, which is a combination of 버리다 and –어 버리다. -어 버리다 adds an additional meaning to its main verb: a certain action is completely over. In addition to that, it can imply the speaker’s feelings toward the finished action. Interestingly, -어 버리다 can describe both happy and sad feeling about what happened.
