In this glassblowing demo video I create a borosilicate glass vortex marble from start to finish. After building a ribbon cane with pink, blue and gold fume, I start the marble core with a bit of silver fume swirl. The ribbon cane is swiped on vertically and then backed with black frit. Additional asymmetric clear is added in a three way pattern to change the interior shape. The back side is decorated with raked lines of light sparkling blue, aqua and dark green floating over the reflective silver fumed base. Colors used in this build: Pink Slime, Dark Cobalt, Black frit, Opaque Aqua, Glasstronics Dark Green and Star IO. Learning and exploring new ideas for artistic handmade designs in glass is an ongoing journey. I hope you enjoy this video series showing the whole process.
